Timex Ironman Shock Watch Review

I bought this watch on vacation in Pennsylvania because our new puppy ate my G-shock. I missed having a watch so I thought I would give this one a try.

First the watch has many features to use. The features are great and one thing you can do with this watch is customize the features by turning the modes on or off, so if you don't use a certain mode it can be turned off. The watch also has large numbers making it very easy to read. A excellent feature for runners, bikers, etc.
  • 30-lap memory recall
  • Durable stainless steel top ring
  • 100-hour chronograph
  • 24 hour countdown timer
  • Customizable features
  • 3 alarms with 5 minute back-up
  • 3 time zones
  • Golf score keeper
  • Water-resistant 200m
  • Forward or backward setting

I like the small diameter of the watch as I have a small wrist and I don't want something huge. However, it is very wide and I don't like that. If it was a little bit thinner it would be much nicer and probably even a little lighter.

The alarms are loud. You can hear them several rooms away. I am a hard sleeper and it wakes me up so that is also a good thing to have in a watch.

When I first started wearing the watch the band was stiff but once I had worn it for a while it loosened up and was a lot more comfortable. The watch also take a good beating. I work in a lab where I tend to bump into everything. I still do not see a single scratch or mark on the watch due to this which is a excellent feature for those of us that put our watches to the test.

Overall this watch is a good watch.

Go Gaga Bag - Review

I have been using the Go Gaga Slide Tote bag for a few months now as a everything bag. I take it everywhere my little guy goes with me. The company refers to the bag as a slide with the idea that slides, be it water slides, kids slides, a slide into home base are all slides that get you places. this "slide" can carry everything we need when we go out and I don't have to worry about carrying my purse with me because there is plenty of room for my wallet and for my other personal items along with anything I need for my 3 year old.

There are features of the bag that many moms will enjoy. For starters, inside the bag there is a Velcro separator that can be used to separate diapers from clothes or other items. Also, there is a cushioned changing pad and a wipes case that comes with the bag. (In our bag we did not get the wipes case but the site states it comes with the bag, it might be something new they added).

On each end of the bag are two large fully lined bottle pockets. You want to be careful that your drinks don't sweat in these pockets though because I did notice one day that our water soaked through and got some of our clothing a little damp. Not a huge deal but could become a issue for some people.

There are also several other smaller pockets to include 2 on the front made with a stretchy material, 2 sleeve pockets on the inside, a zippered change pocket on the inside and a sleeve on the entire length of the back.

Just above and behind the zippered main pocket are 2 adjustable straps with side release buckles that can be used for a yoga mat or rolled up blanket.

My favorite part of the bag is the strap. It is a "patented ergonomic strap". The strap can be worn different ways depending on how you feel comfortable wearing the bag. If it is heavy you can pull the shoulder pad (which also has a cell phone holder on it) to either end and fan out the strap to distribute the weight. The strap fans out over your shoulder comfortably and makes the bag feel a lot lighter.Packing this bag is made easy by the fact that this bag stands upon it's own. This is just one more added detail in this bag.

This bag is a wonderful bag. It is expensive but you pay for a wonderful product.

MSRP: $118.00

Karate 2

Well my little guy is now a "yellow belt." He started karate a while back and has really taken a liking to it. I am so glad that he has. It is expensive but it is more then worth every cent we spend. He participated in the testing on the 17th and did a wonderful job. He is right on with his movements and with his responses. Amazing little guy, especially for his age. I have yet to see anyone else his age join the class. There are some small kids in the class but Eric is still the smallest one. :0) So attached are a couple pictures of the little guy doing is karate.

Everything

I have not been on here in a while to post anything so I thought I would post something to catch up some.

Well for starters, I have been having trouble with my bipolar medication so I had to go back to the Doctor to get something else. I am back on Topamax to see if it will work the second time around. The thought is though that is might not. If it does not work we will have to take more extreme measures and find something stronger for my treatment. The talk is lithium....no thanks if you ask me though. I will do everything in my power to keep off that.

Also, I have been to the doctors for my right wrist that has been bothering me for a while now but seems to have been getting a lot worse the past few months. My doctor thinks that there is a great possibility that it is carpal tunnel but we shall see I go to a hand specialist on September 26th to have testing done and see what is going to happen next. :0(

My little guy is a week away from promotions testing in Karate. I am so proud of him. He has been doing awesome in his class and the Sensi's there love him. I can't wait for promotions as he will be a yellow belt. :0)

Little guy has also started preschool. This is his second week and he is doing awesome there as well. He is learning a lot and making new friends. Yesterday he decorated a shirt to wear in the Canal Town days parade that is on Saturday. I will post pictures from it on Monday. He is going to drive his jeep in the parade with a American Flag flying from it. I think it is going to be soo awesome!!! I am probably more excited then he is.

Okay enough for now.

New beginnings

You want to be happier? Change something. You can't just become happy overnight, you have to work hard at it to make something better. I have decided that in order for my family and I to be happy we need to change our lives. I have encouraged Jeff, my husband, to look for a job in a different state. Currently we are looking at possibly moving to Nevada or Washington D.C. I just want to start over. Begin a new life as a family and get away from all of the gossip and crap that we deal with on a daily basis in NY. Maybe moving won't get rid of it but at least we know that we are trying to make things better for us.

After the email my family and I received I decided that a move would help alleviate some of the issues some people seem to be having lately. Mostly one person but I am not going to name names as I am still very upset about what was said. We are not running away, just removing ourselves from the situation. I love my family and will miss them dearly if we move but I have always been taught that you should do something for yourself and not others.

Well this is it for me. I have been pushed to my limit and I am more then ready to make a change to see if my new beginning will make me and my family happier. Eric, Jeff and I are going to work on getting out of NY as soon as we can. It may be months but you never know.

Have you ever wanted a new beginning? Ever done it and found that it was worse then your situation now? Or found that starting new has made the biggest and greatest change?

Upset

So yes, I am going to post another angry / very upset blog today. I was not planning on it but a email arrived in my inbox just a bit ago and has pushed me to the point where I can not work. I need to get this out so that I feel a little better. So here goes nothing.

I have been told that I am a great parent but do not know how to get my child to listen to me. This person says that if they could give me advice about how to raise my son that he would listen and everything would be hunky dory. Well I have some things to say about this.

I have NEVER been told that my son was rude, out of control or anything else for that matter. We take him every place with us and he is a great little boy. I know there are people out there that would agree with me. I work very hard with my son to make sure that he is polite and listens to people. He is even taking Karate, don't you think he has to listen to do that? My son is my life and I am very hurt that someone would even think that my son does not listen to me and that makes me a bad parent. My husband and I work very hard and Eric does listen to us. I will admit that he does not listen all the time but let me ask you this, do you know ANY child that listens to their parents 100% of the time? I sure as heck don't! And I don't appreciate someone who sees us once a week to tell me that he doesn't listen to us and that we need to get advice about how to raise him. HE IS MY FREAKING KID!!!!!!

I have so much more to say but just can't put it into polite words so I will not say it.
